A brief history of the Hotel

Next to the liquor distillery "Borghetti Café" in Piazza della Stazione in Ancona, more than a century ago the "Trattoria della Fortuna " was born, managed by Vincenzo Giampieri , great-grandfather of the current owners.

Gradually, the restaurant became an inn, then a small hotel, the first in the city, equipped with the latest technology of the day: the phone and the installation of central heating.

Known for their care and attention to the their restaurant dishes, they boasted fine dining appreciated by their guests, professionals, entrepreneurs and artists like the tenor Beniamino Gigli.

During the war, a bombardment destroyed part of the structure which was rebuilt with great difficulty by the heirs of Vincenzo.

Over the years, they converted the restaurant into a full fledged hotel .

After many years, the Hotel Fortuna is still in the hands of the same family. Generation to generation has passed on the baton of the activity, with the same heartfelt commitment as always.
